Return & Redefine
Breaking News: Mums are returning to work whilst redefining what works
Because going back to work doesn’t mean going back to who you were.
You’ve had a baby. Your life has changed. And chances are, you have too.
Maybe you’re looking forward to using a different part of your brain again. Maybe you’re wondering whether you can still do the job you once did with your eyes closed. Perhaps your ambition feels different. Your confidence has taken a knock. Or you simply can’t imagine how work, nursery pick-ups, sick days, sleep deprivation and everything else are supposed to fit into the same week.
Return & Redefine gives you somewhere to work that out - without telling you what your return should look like.
Three conversations. Three short lessons. Your return, your way.
Return & Redefine combines 3 × 30-minute private coaching sessions with 3 short pre-recorded psychology audios you can listen to in your own time.
The recorded audios give you useful ideas and questions to think about. The coaching gives you something a recording can’t: a real conversation shaped around you, your work and what’s happening right now.
There’s no rigid programme to follow. No expectation that by Session 2 you should have mastered boundaries and by Session 3 have your five-year career plan sorted.
Bring whatever matters that week.
The three lessons...
01 - You’re returning. But you’re not the same person who left.
Having a baby can change more than your daily routine. It can shift your identity, priorities, confidence, ambitions and relationship with work.
This lesson helps you take stock of what has changed — without assuming you need to “get back” to your old self.
We’ll explore: what you want to keep, what no longer fits, what matters more now, and what this new version of you might need from work.
02 - Confidence, expectations & the voice in your head
Can I still do this? Everyone has moved on. I’ve forgotten everything. I need to prove I’m still committed.
Returning after time away can make even highly capable women question themselves.
We’ll look at what happens to confidence during transitions, the stories we tell ourselves and the expectations — our own and other people’s — that quietly shape how we return.
Not to manufacture confidence. To help you see yourself and the situation more clearly.
03 - Making work work now
The question isn’t simply “How do I fit everything in?”
It might be:
What do I want work to look like in this chapter of my life?
We’ll explore boundaries, energy, priorities, caring responsibilities, conversations at work and the assumptions you may be carrying about what a “good employee” or “good mum” is supposed to do.
Then you can start experimenting with what actually works for you.
...and then there’s the coaching
Your three private sessions aren't tutorials about the lessons.
They’re yours.
One week you might want to talk about a difficult conversation with your manager. Another might be about guilt over nursery. Or confidence. Promotion. Flexible working. Feeling surprisingly ambitious. Feeling surprisingly unambitious. Being exhausted. Wondering whether you even want the career you had before.
I won't give you a blueprint for the perfect return.
As a Work & Organisational Psychologist and ICF ACC Coach, my role is to listen, ask useful questions, challenge an assumption when it needs challenging and create a stimulating space where you can discover what makes sense for you.
Backed by science. Trusted by intuition. Led by you.
Built around the reality of having a baby
I don't think coaching for new mums should pretend babies don't exist.
So Return & Redefine has a little more give built into it.
You have six months to use your three sessions, so you can book them when they’re genuinely useful — before, during or after your return.
You can reschedule two sessions at short notice for caring-related reasons without losing them. No evidence required.
If your baby appears on screen, that's fine. No need to hide your baby.
If your return date or childcare arrangements materially change, we can pause the package once and extend it by up to three months.
And there’s no mandatory homework waiting for you between sessions. You already have enough to do.
What you get
Return & Redefine includes:
- 3 × 30-minute private online coaching sessions
- 3 short (<15 mins) pre-recorded psychology audio-only lessons
- Six months to use your coaching sessions
- Two caring-related short-notice reschedules
- Option to combine your final two sessions into one 60-minute conversation
- Baby-friendly online sessions (video or audio, as you prefer)
- No mandatory preparation or homework
Founding price: £119
For the first 10 mums, I’m offering Return & Redefine for £119.
After the founding places, the price will increase to £149.
Could your employer pay?
Possibly.
Some employers have learning & development, wellbeing, coaching or return-to-work budgets that can be used for individual support following maternity leave.
If you’d like to ask, I’ll give you a ready-to-send funding request explaining the programme, cost and purpose, so you don’t have to work out how to pitch it yourself.
If your employer pays, you are still my coaching client. Your coaching conversations remain confidential subject to our coaching agreement; your employer does not receive a report about what you discuss. Any information (attendance, for example, or progress) requested by the employer is subject to mutual agreement in advance.
Is this for you?
Return & Redefine might be useful if you’re approaching your return, have recently gone back, or are somewhere in that strange in-between period where maternity leave is ending, and work is beginning to occupy more space in your head again.
You don't need to be struggling.
You don't need to have lost your confidence.
And you definitely don't need to know what you want to work on before you arrive.
You might simply be thinking:
Things have changed. I have changed. So how do I want to do this now?
That’s enough to start.
Return to work. Redefine what it looks like for you.
